(Additional fee includes coach pick-up and drop-off + lunch. For booking go to Registration page)

On Bank Holiday Monday, for those wishing to get further afield and out of the City, we have organised a day trip to The Sill, The UKs National Landscape Discovery Centre situated in the heart of the wild hills and unique geology of Northumberland’s National Park. This includes walks across Hadrian’s Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage site and accompanied by talks with local stewards of the landscape who work towards restoration and interpretation of the local area.

Conference events (included in Conference fee)

30th August Situated Actions & Exhibition
6-10 pm

Our situated actions and exhibition this year will take place at Shieldfield Art Works (SAW). The gallery and community arts space offers a unique location for sharing and experiencing participatory design and participatory art works in a converted church hosting a community library and an outdoor growing garden. Food and drink will be served by the Magic Hat Cafe, a zero-waste enterprise rescuing surplus food destined for landfill.

31st August Conference Dinner
6-10 pm

On Wednesday we will head over to the coast using the Tyne and Wear Metro rail and take a skyline view across the city and a gentle promenade down to the sea. Dinner will be served at local restaurant Hinnies (Geordie dialect for honey also used as a term of endearment) who will provide a summer seasonal menu from locally and sustainably sourced produce with entertainment from local bands.
