Why
Within Australia, the inability to travel overseas indefinitely due to border restrictions provides a unique opportunity to direct our focus locally, bringing together the PD community within Australia. Motivation for a Brisbane-based PDC Place event stems from an enthusiasm from the PD community within Australia to connect with each other face-to-face, with Country, and our local community.
We aim to run a full-day event, which includes a morning ‘Walk-shop’ within the Victoria Parklands with an Indigenous and More-than-Human focus, and an afternoon session of PD panel discussions to engage in critical discussions and idea generation. Breaking up the sessions will be opportunities for connection and networking over lunch, drinks, and an exhibition. We hope to engage academic staff, students, and industry representatives over the course of the event, in order to promote and discuss current PD research and methods.
